Lyttelton Farmers' Market moves to London Street

Saturday the 17th  November was a great day for the Lyttelton Farmers' Market with its move into the main street  of Lyttelton.

The stalls are now spread along London Street on both sides of the road, allowing space  for  buskers and other local artists. On the first Saturday, this created a real festival-type atmosphere, despite the persistent rain.

Our Ground stall is positioned halfway along London Street. We are selling our hand-ground spice blends, soups and salads, humus and pestos as well as our ever-popular gourmet pies. We introduced some new, exotic fillings this week including the Moorish spinach and potato pie (with Ras al Hanout) with a citrus, walnut and bulghur topping.

We also have 3 gourmet fillings for our freshly-made sandwiches, served on Vic's bread:

  • the Hanoi - Vietnamese 5-spice pork belly, cooked fresh and served hot with fresh herbs, salad, aioli and special Hanoi dressing,
  • the Oslo - with our house-cured salmon gravlax with coriander, juniper and dill, served with herbs, salad and saffron aioli, and
  •  the Marrakech - Moroccan spiced rump steak cooked hot and served with humus and salad.
